Ashatari, a mysterious Kalishtar Psion a mental warrior. Blasta also known as Lando, a enigmatic Warforged Warrior; forged for the last war now over, his purpose gone he plies the only trade he knows to survive. Fontaine a thief and cut purse hardened from a life in the under belly of Sharn, worse yet a changeling a dangerous an untrustworthy race of shapeshifters, elusive and clever. Last but not least Hay-Guey a half-orc ranger from the outlands a stranger to these civilized realms what drew him here is a mystery.

We find them one evening in the lower ward of Tavick's Landing near the seaports of Sharn. Better known as Death's Gate or the Venturer's Quarter. They settle in at their favorite tavern The Vulgar Unicorn. low on crowns this loose band is here
fishing for work as much as they are for food and drink. later in the evening a Flustered Woman arrives and eventually approaches the party she says she is the assistant and maid of a certain proprietor Mekdall, a scholar and antiquities dealer of relics from the lost continent of Xen'drik. Her name is lady Tana she was sent by her master to fetch a able band of sellswords for reasons unknown, as cranky and paranoid as he usually is she says he is even more so. After several questions The Party agrees to go with her to mekdall's antiquities in Little Xen'Drik in upper Menthis Plateau.

By lifts and a skycoach they wind their way accross and up through the City of Towers. Menthis plateau known for its lavish Theaters, Dining halls, taverns, and opera houses is dappled with the light and sounds of the greatest night life to be had in the continent of Khorvaire. Passing Morgrave University, they eventually touch down in Little Xen'drik. A small district of the city dedicated to vendors of antiquities. The flora and architecture of the place is made to emulate the exotic feeling of the lost continent

They find Mekdalls shop once inside they see all manner of artifacts of exotic origin into the back room on the second level they are lead to Mekdall's cozy apartment. Clothes and object are sprawled everywhere mekdall runs out in a panic while hastily stuffing a trunk with clothes and sundries. Lady tana asks whats happening, he explains that he must leave sharn for a unknown length of time through her pleading questions he reveals no reason except the need for urgent exodus, and that he need our heroes to escort him to the Sea Dock in the Port Quarter of "Precarious" he offers the band 200 crowns each for their protection. As they haggle the terms of the arrangement downstairs is heard the jingle of the entry bell. "No no it's too late they have found me what do we do, none of are safe. I don't want to die like this Packing a chest on the run!!!" a raspy croaking sound could be heard coming up the stairs ,kobolds!!!

Our heroes sprung to action bLasta and Hay-Guey engaged to petite humanoids in melee while fontaine rained down death from the landing with her crossbow. Along side Ashatari flooded the shop with a myriad of mental assaults. As the battle raged in the now decimated shop. They noticed only two late as several kobold scampered across the tall book shelves and swung to the landing and into Mekdalls Apartment. Seconds later A vivid green blast of arcane fire burst through the door. The remaining kobolds either slain or in retreat left the shop silent except for the screams of tana. Back up stairs the blasted doors swinging off their hinges the singed apartment next to the two charred corpses of the kobold mercenaries. With his Dying breath he leads them to open a secret cache behind a portrait revealing a journal with empty pages. He tells them to keep it secret, as he succumbs to his wounds. The horns of the city guards Bray in the distance the heroes make a hasty exit no crowns for their bloody work.

Enter House Cannith
Making their way back to the Vulgar Unicorn they are approached by a suspect man in a dark blue hood. He stands fast and reveals his mithral ring to the party, bearing the insignia of House Cannith. "If you would know the truth of proprietor Mekdall's Murderer, go to the Broken Anvil Tavern at dawn."

As the sun's rays break though the gleaming spires. The heroes enter the damp badly lit Broken anvil. A halfling maid escorts them to a table in the the back. A woman with delicate features a silvery hair dressed in a dark blue cloak introduces herself as lady Elaydren d'Vown of cannith west. She offers food and drink to them and begins to explain the strife within her house. It seems her and Mekdall were researching old Cannith texts trying to retrieve a family heirloom. He believed he found a ancient Cannith foundry deep in the underdepths of sharn below the Cogs and even deeper the the sewers. She asks for the Journal they turn it over with her signet ring she touches the cover of the journal the mithril strands tracing its leather bound cover glow faint blue, as she flips through the pages they are now filled with maps writing diagrams. After some time she closes the journal and asks if the party would be willing to recover this lost heirloom. They haggle over the price and each received 100 crowns up front and will receive 1000 total on delivery of the goods.

the heirloom is a schema, a pattern used by the house artificers to craft items. The item itself is a adimantium plate in the shape of a seven pointed star.she shows them a map in the journal that shows the location of the foundry level. The Heroes use their advance to fund goods and equipment for their expedition.

as they make their way deeper and deeper into the cities depth they find themselves in a horrid subterranean shanty town by the name of the rats market. A goblin merchant haggles with them and guides them to their next point on the map Khybers Maw. A chasm spanned by bridges leading of to sealed work shops. Several sewer tunnels end along the sides of the endless pit funneling huge amounts of the cities sewer run off far down into the unknown abyss. Heat rises from the darkness, combined with the sewage the floors and the teetering catwalks are caked with slick black growth. And stalactites of filth and slime cling the the cavern ceiling and envelope the chains supporting the walks.

As they make their way across the slick way they come to a section of the cat walk that has collapsed after several close calls some of them make it across. Just then a form slips from the shadows and attacks from on high. Attacking ashatari a choker a evil predator of lightless places

after a tense a precarious battle they win out and cross over to the other side what awaits them is a sealed mithril door with designs matching that of the journal's cover. Enemy nations that fought each other to a standstill over countless, bloody battlefields now turn to subtler methods of conflict. The assassin's dagger replaces the warrior's sword, and the conspirator's whisper speaks more loudly than the general's bellow.

While nations scheme and merchants bicker, priceless secrets from the past lie buried and lost in the devastation, waiting to be tracked down by intrepid scholars and rediscovered by audacious adventurers.

Magic pervades the world of Eberron. It creates wonders of engineering and architecture that rival the boldest dreamscapes. Magic transforms life into bizarre shapes and creates artifacts in intricate patterns for purposes that are lost in time.

It also leaves its mark -- the coveted Dragonmark -- on members of a gifted aristocracy. Some use their gifts to rule wisely and well, but too many rule with ruthless greed, seeking only to expand their own dominance.

The heroes of Eberron come in every size and shape. They are set apart by boldness and a drive to succeed. Power in Eberron comes in many forms beyond swords and spells. Money and influence are as mighty as armies. In a world teetering on an upturned blade separating war and peace, anyone can become great who possesses the strength and courage to walk that knife's edge.

War-torn Nations
The continent of Khorvaire, within which most of Eberron's adventures take place, has just seen the end of nearly a century of warfare. The nations which once formed a kingdom that spanned the continent were embroiled in a bitter struggle for succession in which there was, in the end, no victor. Now these nations are independent sovereign territories who have held an uneasy peace with each other since the Last War ended two years ago. New nations have sprung up in the course of the Last War, and others have lost territory or been obliterated entirely, so tensions still run high, and nobody truly knows if peace wll last.

New Races
Four new races are featured in the Eberron Campaign Setting, each balanced to have no level adjustment, so they can be taken by first level characters. Changelings are the descendents of humans and doppelgangers, and have the ability to alter their appearance at will, as though using a Disguise Self spell. Shifters are descended from humans and lycanthropes, and are able to manifest certain bestial traits in a form similar to a barbarian's Rage. These traits may be enhanced via a selection of feats, or by taking the Weretouched Master Prestige Class. Kalashtar are naturally psionic beings who are adept at the use of psionic powers. Warforged are living constructs, built by magical Creation Forges to do battle in the Last War. Now that the war is over, the Creation Forges have been decommissioned and the Warforged given the status of citizens. They must find their place in a world that has turned its back on the purpose they were built for.

New faces for old races
All the standard D&D races are present in Eberron, but few of them are exactly as you'd expect. The gnomes of Zilargo are scribes and scholars, but they are also expert shipwrights and have a culture in which intrigue, espionage and blackmail are elevated to art forms. Elves are divided into two nations - the afterlife-obssessed Aereni, who practice a very literal form of ancestor-veneration, and the Valenar, whose breakaway culture is aggressively martial. Half-Elves outnumber Elves on the mainland, and are a true-breeding race with their own well-respected culture. Halflings live in most civilised lands, but trace their origins to the Talenta Plains, where the majority of the Halfling race still live as barbarian tribes, riding and herding the dinosaurs of the plains. Orcs are a spiritual people whose ancestors were the first and most powerful practitioners of Druidic magic, whilst goblinoids once ruled the continent in an empire that exceeded the more recent human empire in almost every respect. Reduced to scattered remnants in the aftermath of the extraplanar invasion which shattered their empire, some of them still keep their once-proud culture alive and dream of returning to power.

Magic as industry
In most settings, magic is treated as strange and unknown, given a mystique quite at odds with the high availability of both magic and spellcasters that the standard D&D rules presume. Eberron starts from the premise that magic is available and widely-studied, and builds its societies on that basis. Magic is prevalent in the everyday lives of practically everyone in the setting, from everbright lanterns (lamps with continual flame cast upon them) lighting the streets, to elemental-powered carriages and airships for long-distance travel. Low-level magic is commonplace and ordinary, but high-level magic is still rare and mysterious.

Dragonmarked Houses
The economy of Khorvaire is based upon the influences of thirteen distinct Great Houses, each overseeing a different aspect of trade and commerce. These Dragonmarked Houses are so-called because of the unique hereditary markings borne by the members of each one's controlling family. Known as Dragonmarks, these tattoo-like symbols provide each family with unique abilities upon which their trade is based. For instance, the half-elves of House Lyrandar, who control much of the shipping in the seas around Khorvaire, and more recently the airships that ply the continent's skies, bear the Mark of Storm, which grants its bearers powers over wind and weather.
